GitHub matches employee donations under the guidelines below:

• Educational institutions (K-12 included)
• Health and human services
• Arts and cultural organizations
• Civic and community organizations
• Environmental organizations
• And most 501 (c)(3) organizations

Nonprofit eligibility: Nonprofits of employee choice per official GitHub Social Impact page; DTD lists education, health and human services, arts/cultural, civic/community, environmental, and most 501(c)(3) organizations.

Faith-based eligibility: Not disclosed.

GitHub Matching Gift Submission Process

Submission mode: Employee Required. Employees should submit the matching gift request through the employer's giving portal or matching process.

1. Find your donation receipt.
2. Open GitHub's matching-gift portal or employee giving process.
3. Search for the nonprofit you donated to.
4. Enter the donation amount and donation date.
5. Upload or reference your receipt if requested.
6. Submit the request before the employer's current deadline.
