Matching Gift Program Details

CarMax matches employee donations under the guidelines below:

• Nearly all 501(c)(3) organizations, including K-12 education, health and human services, arts and cultural, civic/community, environmental, and nearly all other 501(c)(3) organizations per source
• Houses Of Worship Excluded
• Faith-based eligibility: Conditional
• Volunteer grant program is also listed

Nonprofit eligibility: Nearly all 501(c)(3) organizations, including K-12 education, health and human services, arts and cultural, civic/community, environmental, and nearly all other 501(c)(3) organizations per source.

Faith-based eligibility: Conditional.

CarMax Matching Gift Submission Process

Submission mode: Employee Required. Employees should submit the matching gift request through the employer's giving portal or matching process.

1. Find your donation receipt.
2. Open CarMax's matching-gift portal or employee giving process.
3. Search for the nonprofit you donated to.
4. Enter the donation amount and donation date.
5. Upload or reference your receipt if requested.
6. Submit while the gift is still eligible: within 180 days of gift date.
